Everyday Tasks – Sphere of the Gods

-2019-

Installation

Sculpture, Fiberglass reenforced plastic with white lacquer finish, 160 x 153 x 165 cm

Washing machine, 85 x 60 x 60 cm

A washing machine is installed in the gallery, available for visitors to use for the duration of the exhibition. In the centre of the space, next to the washing machine, a sculpture of the artist serves as a drying rack. With arms lifted, fingers spread and a leg raised, the sculpture offers ample possibilities for wet garments to be draped, giving the audience the opportunity to contribute to the work. Visitors are welcome to rest while their laundry dries, and reflect on their interpretation of the work.
