Jankowski went to the woods to write a poem and presented the final text alongside two photographs. One shows Jankowski writing the poem. The other shows the word »BE« – one of what Jankowski calls the »garbage words« that came to mind as he was writing Im Wald, but which he didn’t use. He carved these words into the trunks of nearby trees; there they remained.
