Concept
-1999-
As part of a group show, short texts written by the curators about the works in the exhibition were played over loudspeakers. Jankowski employed an announcer from a supermarket to read these aloud. The work oscillates between a curatorial gallery tour and a marketing strategy, turning the museum’s galleries into a hybrid environment complete with product display. Originally created for the group exhibition Weil Morgen in Hanover in1996, another version, with the English title Supermarket Announcements, was produced for Crash! at the ICA in London.
