After New Year’s Eve at the turn of the millennium, Jankowski spent the day strolling through Berlin, taking photographs of dud fireworks – those that failed to go off the night before. They didn’t manage to make the leap into the new millennium and are concrete metaphors for old acquaintances soon to be forgotten, for auld lang syne.
