Having received a commission to produce a public artwork in Mexico City, Jankowski interviewed speakers at a conference about the ecological problems facing water supplies. He asked them how art might be able to illustrate global environmental issues. Then Jankowski approached five local graphic design companies and asked them to design posters featuring water, by recycling and updating old ad campaign ideas that never made the cut. Once the ads had been designed, he added quotes from the interviews. The resulting five billboards placed around Mexico City included text such as, »It would be great if you took this as a political statement,« along with sleek advertising imagery, like a painkiller fizzily dissolving in water.
