At a poster sale at Washington University, St. Louis, Jankowski photographed freshmen with their purchases. As well as printing
individual photographs, Jankowski turned all 40 of his photographs into a single poster, a kind of portrait of the student community. The work reflects on the way that young people form identities and develop their own tastes through personalizing their environments and beginning to collect.
