Santa Claus went to the Christmas market. The colorful lights adorning the stands twinkled, and Christmas melodies sounded. As quiet as a mouse, he placed a large, colorful present in the slushy snow in the center of a small square between the stands. Then he left. The abandoned present sat there for a while.
Jankowski’s video work documents the course of events using a hidden camera: the placement of the present; skeptical, confusedlooking visitors at the market; a child reaching out to grab the present pulled to the side by wary parents; and finally the security guard who came and took the present away.
