In Jankowski’s video Discourse News, NY1’s senior business anchor Annika Pergament reports on contemporary art from her newscaster’s desk. She explains the meaning of the title Discourse News, addresses themes and discussions in the art world, and reflects on the media’s relationship to art. In this way, Pergament becomes part of the work itself, while reporting on it. In fact, the text that Pergament reads was written by Jankowski with the help of press agents from his New York gallery, Friedrich Petzel, as well as art journalists, such as Niklas Maak. NY1 then submitted the text to their fact-checking standards.
